ABOUT OLIVIA ZWAYER
Hey there! As you might have guessed, that girl pictured is me. I’m Olivia, the designer and creator of this website.
I’m a 26 year old California girl, a smotherer of cats, creator of all things artsy. I started making messes in 1992 (sorry, Mom) and over the years that inclination towards creative chaos stuck with me. I would not say I have my life together, but I have a solid understanding of my talents and goals.
I also have quite the academic journey. I studied Graphic Design at Ohio Dominican University where I received a basketball scholarship before deciding to transfer to Miami University. I dabbled in Kinesiology after getting the Starving Artist Talk from my parents, but ultimately decided I can deal with Pizza Roll dinners for the rest of my life and returned to the world of art and design. I received my associates from MU and planned to transfer to art school upon moving to Los Angeles where my husband was applying to jobs. The move fell through and so did art school. I decided school wasn't for me. Ever since then, I've worked to teach myself programs such as Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, After Effects and more. Occasionally, I'll find myself testing the water in other creative hobbies such as sewing and cake design. Through trial and error I continue to grow my knowledge. I never go into a project thinking I cannot do it, which leads to successful outcomes. I always say that my biggest weakness is also my biggest strength. I am never good enough for myself which pushes me to keep learning and growing into the designer I know I can be.
Stayed tuned because this is only the beginning...
"A river cuts through rock, not because of its power, but because of its persistence."- James N Watkins
We all stumble upon things now and then that really speak to us. For me, this quote was it. A reminder to myself that if I want to reach my goals, I have to be persistent in getting there. I have to act more "Riverly" in a sense.
Ok now, my logo is pretty complicated so bare with me as I explain it. My name is Olivia, most commonly referred to as "Liv". I took the L, drew it twice in cursive then interlocked them, phew! I hope you understood all that.
